Father Daughter Dance 2013

Pictures at the house before Rusty and Sarah left for their date.

 Sweet girl!
Emily wanted to get in the picture action too!
Sarah was so excited to go to the dance with Rusty!

Ice Day...

Trying our best to stay busy couped up in the house due to the "ice storm."  I decided we could pass the time baking cookies, so we did that.  We made homemade ones, so it took a while to make the dough, let it harder in the fridge, roll it out, bake, then ice them.  The girls were very patient but eager for them to be ready.  By the time it was time to decorate the cookies, all the girls wanted to do was eat them...

Emily didn't even attempt to decorate the cookies; she just ate them...
Sarah decorated about five of them, and then I was left to do the rest of the batch...

Family Day at the Dallas Zoo

Our family in the bird's nest at the Children's Zoo section
 Choo! Choo!
 Look what hatched!
 Fun!
This was the perfect picture opportunity!  The zoo was not crowded at all, and the leaves were just the perfect fall colors!

Sarah is still apprehensive about feeding the giraffes, but she is getting closer to them.

Emily, on the other hand, was all about it.

Happy Halloween!

We had another fun time trick or treating this year!
Emily did a good job at being polite to the neighbors when asking for candy.  When we got back to the house, she wanted to try out ALL of her candy!
Sarah had fun and was a great big sister helping out with Emily.  She really enjoyed handing out candy to the kiddos too!

Costume Parade!

Each year, there is a Costume Parade at the girls' school.  It's very cute to see all of the kids dressed in their Halloween outfits.  I believe there were the most Rapunzels for the girls and Spidermans for the boys this year.

Showing off the pumpkin Daddy carved this year.  Sarah picked out the design, and I think Rusty did an excellent job!

Looking cute in Mommy's glasses!

Perot Museum

We hadn't been to the Perot Museum in a while, so I decided to take the girls there last week.  They enjoyed it, like always.  We hadn't been in so long I wasn't aware they had Member Mondays which made it a LOT less crowded than when we used to go.  They always enjoy the xylophone!
Checking out how different places in the world and the environment there would react if there was a climate change...

 The girls had fun!
The Allen Fire Department came to visit the girls' school.  Emily's teacher sent me a couple of pictures of her experience.  They are so cute!

Pumpkin Patch!

\
I took the girls to a local church that does a "Pumpkins on the Prairie" event each year, so I wouldn't exactly call it a "pumpkin patch" but close enough.  The girls had a blast, so that's all that matters. Sarah's favorite part was the hay ride and hay maze, while Emily's was the bounce house.
