Pool Time with Caroline

Sarah and her sweet friend, Caroline, had some fun in the sun earlier this week.  This water fountain thing was a hit because it was just the right size!
Another hit were these steps that had water coming over them.  The girls enjoyed going up and down them.

Sarah and I also took a trip to Jumpstreet earlier this week.  It's really a place for kids older than Sarah, but they did have a "small kid" area.  The main attraction there are all of the trampolines.  Right when we got to the small kid area, Sarah went straight to the trampoline area and was having a lot of fun.  Then, there came the collision with an older boy.  After that, Sarah did not want to have anything to do with it.  So, we spent the rest of the time either going down this inflatable firetruck, or Sarah sat in the tea cups in the picture below.  I did get her to go back on the trampoline with me one more time before we left, but she just wasn't into it (still remembered "the fall").  We will probably wait a few months before going back.

Sarah and Samantha

Over the weekend, the Weyers came to visit us.  We took the girls to have ice cream, and they also enjoyed looking at the ducks in the pond nearby.
Samantha and Sarah enjoyed watching cartoons on the couch while waiting for breakfast.
She's at it again, but this time, with my tenny shoes.  We were getting ready to go for a walk that morning.
We took Sarah to the indoor swimming pool in our town.  With these 100+ degrees temperatures, I just can't bear the outdoors for very long these days.  Rusty and I agreed (and I'm sure Sarah would too) that it was very nice to enjoy the pool inside for a change.

The Indoor Safari Park

The Indoor Safari Park has blow up animals, a train, an area to "ride" a few of the animals (they actually walk around), and a jungle gym/play area for the kids.  It was a fun place.  Sarah is riding the train in this picture.  I was pretty impressed she didn't insist I go in there with her!
 Going down the slide

The ball pit at the bottom of the slide was probably the biggest hit for Sarah.  I don't think I want to know what she and this little boy were thinking...
You can tell by the face, the trampoline was a hit too...
This was the first time Sarah checked out books at the library.  Such a big girl already :(  She looks so grown up, like she could be graduating from Kindergarten already or something...

Feeding the Ducks

Sarah and I go to Storytime at the library and afterwards, we go to feed the ducks in the pond.  Sarah really enjoys this; probably more than storytime.
We usually sit on the grass right outside of the water.  On this day, those ducks must have been extra hungry.  One by one, they started coming out of the water to us.  I was quite impressed they actually got that close to us, and then I started to get a little scared when they wouldn't leave Sarah alone...
They finally got the hint, and Sarah said "bye bye ducks".  Until next time...

Mommy's Shoes

The new thing is to put on my shoes.  It's almost guaranteed to happen if she follows me into the closet.  Sometimes, she'll try to put on Daddy's shoes too, but those are a little more difficult to handle.  Again, we've got the notorious smile for you though!

This started out as a "clean" activity.  We had the funnel out and Sarah watched the beans go from the funnel to the bowl.  It then turned into a little of a mess, which was still really fun and cute to watch.  This has become something we do more of, and Sarah is getting really good at putting the beans back into the cup, etc without spilling too many of them.
